5 REASONS TO BE PROUD OF YOURSELF
5 REASONS TO BE PROUD OF YOURSELF
Proud.
We can easily express this sentiment for others, but how often do you express it for yourself?
In a Facebook post earlier this week, I proclaimed how proud I was of my daughter for her recent promotion. And many of the comments were pointing back to me. That I was somehow responsible it. If I'm being honest, I did not feel worthy of that praise.
I was talking with my son yesterday and telling him how proud I was of both him and his sister. They are both living their dreams.
Then he asked how my business was going. I told him it's going extremely well. My son told me he was proud of me. And that I've modeled what it looks like to follow your dream. (My heart melted) And that's when I decided to be proud of me too.
Taking what my son said, it got me thinking... I seem to notice that many of my fellow dream chasers, aka entrepreneurs, are not feeling very proud of their businesses.
I'm here to change that.
I can help you build a business that you can be proud of.
On a scale of 1-10, how proud of you are your business? How about of yourself?
Why should you be proud of yourself? I’m going to give you some reasons that I think you may want to consider:
You had a vision, a dream, a desire to make an impact on the lives of others. Whether it was to help women, men, children, widows, teachers, military members, caregivers, homeowners, etc… you felt a calling, and you answered it. And you didn’t have all of the answers when you started, but you started. That’s something to be proud of. Do you know how many people don’t even start?
You DIY’d it to your best ability. Whether you were watching tutorials on YouTube, or taking classes from anyone offering them, you set out to learn how to run and operate a business. Now, it’s not perfect, and that’s okay, I can help you with that, but you didn’t let your allergy to technology get in your way or stop you from pursuing this dream of yours.
You faked it. Yes, you should be proud of that! It takes a lot of balls and courage to try and convince people to give you money for services/ products that you maybe don’t have any proof of transformation. But you had the belief. And you faked it. At every networking meeting, you stood up and gave your intro/ commercial like a champ. Never when you didn’t feel like you knew what you were doing, you did it anyways. Great job!
You remained open and curious. As we go about our life’s journey, we are going to come into contact with people who can help us get to the next level. Sometimes, these people are full of shit and they try to pull the wool over our eyes, but sometimes they are genuine caring people who really do want to help you. You remained open and curious, trusting your gut through the situations. You may have gotten fooled a time or two, but you didn’t let it keep you down. We all gotta learn from our mistakes/ lessons.
You figured it out, even when you didn’t know how. We all start somewhere. We all start with zero followers on Instagram. We all start out with zero friends on Facebook. We all start at zero, with no idea what the hell we are doing, or how we are going to get there. But, when we are patient, everything seems to work out for us in the end, right? Just knowing the what and the why, is more important than the how. That can all be figured out in due time!
And if no one has told you lately... I AM PROUD OF YOU.
