WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN THINGS DON’T GO AS PLANNED?
WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN THINGS DON’T GO AS PLANNED?
You are launching your new program, and you have decided to have a 3-day challenge as your conversion event. Great!
Then guess what happens? Zoom crashes. It is not allowing you to launch a video. What do you do?
What’s your contingency plan?
On Saturday, I traveled to North Dakota to see my son, before heading to a conference in Minneapolis. When I arrived to get my rental car, I was refused a car because I was dropping it in Minneapolis and there is a shortage of cars, and the company couldn’t afford to let a car go to Minneapolis. So here I was stuck in Fargo, North Dakota with no car and no way to get to my hotel for the night and then having to figure out another way to get to Minneapolis on Wednesday.
I sat in the corner talking to my daughter and the tears started to flow. She was trying to fix it and wasn’t understanding that what I was being told wasn’t matching what she was finding online. The only way I could get to my hotel was an Uber. $118 trip.
I talked with my business bestie who is a travel connoisseur, and we went over all of my options. All of the options from A-Z.
All of this to say is that in our business, we need to have contingency plans too. What happens if technology doesn’t work for you that day? What will you do?
What if Facebook shuts down tomorrow? What will you do?
What if your plans don’t pan out? What if no one shows up to your event?
What if this? What if that?
Knowing how to use a variety of platforms and tools is a good thing.
If zoom doesn’t work, I can go to Google Meet or Streamyard depending on what I’m doing.
I can take the registration list and email everyone that we are going to do our training via Facebook live.
I can pre-record the video and send it out to everyone.
I can re-schedule it.
So when you are planning the "perfect launch", don’t forget to plan for the unexpected. It will make things a lot less stressful, frustrating or overwhelming for you in the long run.
